Reco Jefferson was born on September 8, 1986, in Mississippi, where life offered few luxuries—but plenty of lessons. Growing up with limited financial resources, Reco found something just as valuable: an insatiable curiosity.

“I always knew that if I wanted to change my life, I had to learn,” he recalls. “So I read everything I could get my hands on—especially books about tech and engineering.”

His move to the Philadelphia area in high school marked a turning point. It was a cultural shift, but it became home. During this time, Reco discovered a passion that would stay with him: cars.

“I loved working on cars,” he says. “Taking things apart, figuring them out, and making them better—it taught me how to think.”

Street Racing and Self-Discovery
Reco’s love for cars extended beyond the garage. He found thrills in both track and street racing, but the adrenaline eventually gave way to deeper reflection.

“It was fun. Too fun, maybe,” he admits. “But it helped me see that I needed more structure in my life.”

That realization pushed him toward a pivotal decision—joining the U.S. Air Force. The discipline and order of military life provided a new foundation.

“I learned how to stay focused,” Reco says. “It helped me build the mindset I needed to succeed later in life.”

Following his service, he pursued higher education, earning a degree from Penn State University—laying the groundwork for what would come next.

Engineer to Entrepreneur: A Tech-Driven Rise
Reco began his professional journey as a software engineer, a role that perfectly suited his lifelong love of problem-solving.

“I liked solving problems,” he says. “That’s what software is all about.”

But his ambitions stretched far beyond employment. He launched Roughnecks Ecom, an e-commerce company that leverages automation and technology to deliver smarter business solutions.

“I didn’t start out thinking I’d be a CEO,” Reco reflects. “I just wanted to create something that worked better.”

His vision resonated. The company expanded rapidly, and today Reco leads a dynamic team focused on the cutting edge of e-commerce, tech, and AI.

Speed, Cinema, and Spontaneity
Despite his demanding schedule, Reco hasn’t let go of the things that make him feel alive. He’s an active member of the Sports Car Club of America, road races regularly, and follows Formula 1 religiously.

“I always dreamed of being an F1 driver,” he admits. “That ship has sailed, but the passion is still there.”

When he’s not racing or coding, you’ll likely find him at the movies—especially if there’s horror, action, and movie popcorn involved.

“It’s a ritual at this point,” he laughs.

He’s also embraced travel in recent years, often choosing destinations based on instinct rather than itineraries.

“It helps me see things differently,” he says.

Giving Back and Looking Ahead
Reco’s roots in Philadelphia have instilled in him a commitment to community, especially when it comes to education.

“I try to talk to kids in the city whenever I can,” he says. “The school system here is rough, and I want to help change that.”

One of his long-term goals is to open a school—an institution that empowers young people with tools, knowledge, and belief in their potential.

“I didn’t have much growing up, but I had access to knowledge. That’s what I want to give back.”

The Lesson in the Journey
Reco Jefferson doesn’t talk about success in terms of milestones or material gains. His story is about progress. About process. About the quiet, relentless pursuit of better.

“I never feel like I’ve made it,” he says. “There’s always more to learn, more to build, and more to give.”
