Jon Oliver Bryce to lead the company as interim chief amid leadership transition
Dolphin Drilling has announced the immediate resignation of its chief executive officer, Bjørnar Iversen, marking the end of his tenure that began in July 2019. Iversen, a seasoned leader in the offshore drilling industry, previously held key roles at Songa Offshore and Odfjell Drilling, guiding Dolphin Drilling through a dynamic period of growth and operational challenges.
In light of Iversen’s departure, the company has appointed Jon Oliver Bryce as interim CEO. Bryce, who currently serves as chief strategy officer, brings over 30 years of experience in the drilling sector. His leadership background includes senior roles at Awilco Drilling and Odfjell Drilling, positioning him well to steer the company through this transition.
Holding a degree in mechanical engineering, Bryce is an influential figure in the maritime and energy sectors. He serves on the supervisory board of the UK Chamber of Shipping and chairs the British Rig Owners Association, further solidifying his expertise in offshore operations and industry leadership.
Martin Nes, chairman of Dolphin Drilling’s board of directors, acknowledged Iversen’s contributions over the past six years, expressing gratitude for his dedication and leadership. “We appreciate Bjørnar’s efforts in advancing Dolphin Drilling and wish him the very best in his future endeavors,” Nes stated.
As the company moves forward under Bryce’s interim leadership, the focus will remain on operational stability and strategic growth in the evolving offshore drilling landscape.
