A Proven Advocate for Creativity, Gordon Takes on Global Leadership to Drive Innovation and Business Success
Ogilvy has announced the promotion of Fiona Gordon to Global CEO of Advertising, a pivotal role that will see her oversee the agency’s advertising, branding, and content strategies across its worldwide network. Reporting directly to Devika Bulchandani, Global CEO of Ogilvy, Gordon will be responsible for leading the evolution of the agency’s creative capabilities, ensuring they remain at the forefront of an ever-changing market landscape. She will also join Ogilvy’s prestigious Global Executive Committee.
Gordon’s promotion follows a highly successful tenure as CEO of Ogilvy UK, a position she held since 2021. Under her leadership, Ogilvy UK achieved remarkable recognition, being named the top creative agency in the UK on WARC’s 2024 Creative 100 list. Her contributions have been widely praised for championing creativity and delivering impactful work for clients.
Devika Bulchandani, expressing her admiration for Gordon, highlighted her as a trusted partner to many of Ogilvy’s top clients and a leader with both intellectual prowess and empathy. “Fiona has always demonstrated an unwavering commitment to Ogilvy’s founder culture, inspiring those around her with her vision and her deep belief in the power of creativity,” Bulchandani said. She emphasized her excitement at seeing Ogilvy’s global network benefit from Gordon’s strategic leadership.
Gordon’s journey with Ogilvy is marked by decades of experience and a deep connection to the agency. Having joined as a graduate trainee in the 1990s, she has held various leadership roles across EMEA, Asia, and the US, contributing to the agency’s growth and reputation on a global scale.
Reflecting on her new role, Gordon expressed her enthusiasm for the future: “I truly believe in the limitless potential of creativity to drive business success and make a lasting cultural impact. I’m eager to work alongside Devika, Liz Taylor, and our Worldwide Creative Council to leverage Ogilvy’s collective talent to create work that resonates in this ever-evolving landscape.”
Gordon’s promotion comes at a time of significant growth and transformation for Ogilvy’s parent company, WPP, which recently announced the acquisition of New Commercial Arts (NCA), a leading independent creative and customer experience agency. This acquisition underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its creative and customer-focused offerings, positioning Ogilvy and its global leadership team at the cutting edge of the advertising world.
With Fiona Gordon at the helm, Ogilvy’s advertising division is poised to continue delivering industry-leading creative solutions, further cementing its role as a trailblazer in global marketing.
