Rakesh Thukral Appointed CEO of Edelman Asia Pacific as Warren Fernandez Transitions to New Role

Edelman, a global leader in communications, has appointed Rakesh Thukral as its new Chief Executive Officer for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Thukral’s appointment comes as Warren Fernandez steps down after years of leadership to pursue a new opportunity. Fernandez will remain with the company until the end of the year to ensure a seamless transition.

Thukral, who currently serves as Edelman’s APAC Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director for India, has been with the company for many years. His leadership has been pivotal in driving the firm’s growth in the region through a strong focus on clients, talent development, and diversification of Edelman’s services. In his new role, Thukral will report directly to Ed Williams, Edelman’s President for International, and will build on the firm’s strong reputation in APAC, including multiple accolades at prestigious global awards such as the Cannes Lions and PRovoke’s Global SABRE Awards.
