Citycon Announces Leadership Transition: Oleg Zaslavsky to Take the Helm as CEO

Citycon Oyj, a leading Nordic real estate company, has announced a major leadership transition with the appointment of Oleg Zaslavsky as its new Chief Executive Officer. The Board of Directors unanimously approved the decision, marking a pivotal moment in Citycon’s journey. Zaslavsky is set to assume the role by April 2025, with his base in Helsinki, Finland. Until then, F. Scott Ball will continue as the interim CEO to ensure a smooth transition.

Zaslavsky’s Visionary Leadership

Oleg Zaslavsky brings over 20 years of extensive experience in real estate, finance, and business administration. Currently, he serves as the Managing Director and CFO of ATCP Management GmbH, a German real estate firm under the Aroundtown Group. His prior tenure as CFO at Robyg S.A. and Robyg Construction from 2011 to 2021 underscores his deep expertise in financial strategy and operational management.

Citycon’s Board expressed confidence in Zaslavsky’s ability to steer the company toward sustainable growth. His leadership will play a critical role in advancing Citycon’s mission of delivering vibrant urban hubs across the Nordics.

Additional Leadership Changes

Citycon also announced other notable transitions within its leadership structure:

  • Jussi Vyyryläinen, Senior Vice President of Leasing and a key member of the Corporate Management Committee, will leave the company on May 15, 2025, to pursue new career opportunities. He will remain in his current position until the end of December 2024 and continue as an advisor through mid-May 2025.
  • Eero Sihvonen, a seasoned professional and current member of Citycon’s Board of Directors, will join the Corporate Management Committee immediately. Sihvonen previously served as Citycon’s CFO from 2005 to 2021, bringing invaluable institutional knowledge and expertise.
  • Sakari Järvelä, the current Chief Financial Officer, will also depart at the end of December 2024 to explore new opportunities.
